Prof Kumar is currently Professor of Medicinal/Organic Chemistry at the University of New South Wales. He completed his PhD in Organic Chemistry at the University of Wollongong, Australia. He has a strong track record in the design and synthesis of bioactive molecules. Prof Kumar has published more than 335 original papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals and has an h-index of 44. He is an inventor on 24 patents covering several different technologies. Prof Kumar has supervised 35 PhD students to completion and is currently supervising the research work of 6 PhD, 1 MSc and 2 honours students, as well as 1 Research Associate.
