Professor Johannes (Jan-Willem) C Alffenaar is a hospital pharmacist and clinical pharmacologist at the University of Sydney, School of Pharmacy, Sydney Infectious Diseases Institute and at Westmead Hospital. His research in infectious diseases (invasive fungal infections, tuberculosis and ICU) focuses on personalized dosing in routine care using therapeutic drug monitoring. He developed innovative dried blood spot sampling and point-of-care saliva testing assay and conducted many clinical studies evaluating PK/PD and TDM.
