Lisa Brenton is the Deputy Principal Scientist in the Microbiology laboratory at St Vincent’s Hospital, Melbourne, where she leads the scientific and technical staff in the Bacteriology team. She has a Bachelor of Applied Science (Medical Laboratory Science) and a Masters of Business Administration, with a speciality in Human Resource Management. Lisa has over 30 years’ experience working in both public and private pathology in regional and metropolitan settings. She is a member of the Clever Culture Systems Scientific Advisory Board advising on the application of Artificial Intelligence in Microbiology, a member of the Medical Laboratory Science Course Reference Committee for Central Queensland University, a member of the Advisory Group for Holmesglen TAFE (Certificate IV in Laboratory Techniques), and a National Association of Testing Authorities (NATA) technical assessor.
